I am folding my name
into letter sized pieces
(please be careful with it)
it took me years to find this,
give me your tongue
and I will tie it in a bow
place my name there
(you can keep it safe)
this will be the first time
that this name has been touched
treat it like you would
any other first
take it slowly,
make it feel safe
lay a towel down
in case my old identity spills out,
afterwards, hold my name
against your chest
make a cleft in your heart
to fit these letters in -
these are my first words.
